I have lived in a part of Talomo that never had floods for the past 40 years. Even when the Talomo River overflowed, the nipa palm grove provided geo-netting. Debris would be trapped in the groves. The water would disperse in the grove, then gradually ease out. The roots of the nipa palm absorbed the flood waters. We never had floods in the property.![]()

A year or two ago, the Department of Public Works and Highways constructed their river revetment program as part of the government flood control undertakings. ![]()

The very first thing they did was uproot FIVE HUNDRED nipa palms on our property. I expressed my concern to the DPWH that what they did was a disaster waiting to happen. ![]()

Here's the thing, DPWH contractors and suppliers wouldn't make money if the tried and tested geo-netting was expanded.![]()

Tonight, July 23, 2026. There was no rain in our location. However, there was rain in the uplands, and the waters found their way to the Talomo River.. and inside our property.![]()

The good news is while the adjoining areas in Bangkal and Talomo Semento had floodwaters nearly covering their roofs, we got enough muddy waters to cover just the floor, leaving a trail of mud.![]()

I still can't get over the fact that for 40 years, we never had floodwaters in our property. After DPWH constructed their River revetment structure supposedly to prevent floods, we had floodwaters entering the resort. ![]()

After destioying the nipa groves geo-netting, and government spending humongous amounts of tax money for flood control, we got uncontrolled floods.![]()

This is another lesson for me.. moving forward, I will no longer give a fuck aboutr dry farmlands if it means introducing floodwaters to my location.. I will take that system down.![]()

On another note, I was wondering what if I didn't intervene to stop the excessive downpours.. as I've been doing since 2017.. What if my weather defense activities introduced complacency leading to haphazardly constructed flood control projects? ![]()

What if I did nothing to stop the excessive downpours instead opting to just secure my location, I wagered that the true state of flood control in Davao City will be revealed. ![]()

Last night, I got my answer. Without the Orgonite defending against extreme weather systems, the city just like all the cities on the planet bar none.. are sitting ducks!![]()
